About Us

Greg Adams

Mr. Adams is a student-centered school leader that has served middle and high school level students in Knox County for 5 years. He began his career as a special education teacher in the state of Michigan from 2011 to 2017. Mr. Adams entered school administration in 2017 as Program Director at Western Career Prep High School and then Assistant Principal at Jackson High School. After returning home to Tennessee in 2021 he served as an Assistant Principal at Bearden High School for 2 years before becoming Executive Principal at Farragut Middle School in 2023.

With an extensive background of almost 25 years of working with at-risk youth in juvenile detention and various educational settings, Mr. Adams grounds his administrative work in building positive relationships and leading with a student-centered approach to foster growth in academic excellence, character building and emotional health and well-being.

Mr. Adams holds a bachelor’s degree in Learning Disabilities/Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Emotional Impairment, both from Michigan State University.  He earned his certificate in Educational Leadership and Administration from the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals.

 Brandon White

Mr. White is a proud product of Knox County Schools and a KCS graduate himself. Before joining the administrative team at Farragut Middle School six years ago, he dedicated over a decade to growing middle school students in KCS classrooms. A former high school baseball coach and lifelong sports enthusiast, Mr. White brings his love of athletics—and his passion for teamwork and growth—into everything he does.

Outside of school, Mr. White enjoys spending time with his wife and children, coaching his son’s baseball team, playing golf, a good book, cheering on the Vols, and catching any baseball game he can. Known for his fun spirit and willingness to wear a silly outfit or two or funny dance moves, you’ll often find Mr. White connecting with students and families, fostering relationships, maintaining high expectations for himself and others, and supporting the Tradition of Excellence that defines Farragut Middle School. Lastly, you may hear Mr. White on the announcements or class meetings share a phrase he means from his heart: “Don’t ever forget - someone at Farragut Middle School cares about you!”

Kimberly Hamlett

Mrs. Hamlett is an adept educator and school leader with almost three decades of experience in various educational roles. She began her career in education in 1999 as an elementary teacher in West Tennessee.  She relocated to Knox County in 2002 and continued to serve as an elementary teacher from 2002 to 2009 at Belle Morris Elementary, Cedar Bluff Intermediate, and Blue Grass Elementary before stepping into educational leadership as a Secondary Literacy Coach serving numerous Knox County Middle Schools from 2009 to 2011.  Her passion for supporting the growth and development of all individuals through opportunities to experience academic excellence and success led to a continued career in educational leadership serving as Assistant Principal at Powell Middle School from 2011 to 2013, followed by Assistant Principal at Halls Middle School from 2013 to 2014.  Since 2014, she has served as Assistant Principal at Farragut Middle School where she continues to serve with a focus on academic excellence for all individuals and with a passion for fostering an environment where all are recognized as individuals and provided with opportunities that not only promote academic success but also support and develop the life-skills required to transition into adulthood one day.

Mrs. Hamlett holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Elementary Education from Freed-Hardeman University graduating Magna Cum Laude.  She also holds a Master’s Degree in Supervision and Administration and an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both from Lincoln Memorial University where she was recognized for outstanding research and graduated with highest honors.

Catherine Ginel

Dr. Catherine Ginel is a dedicated educator and school leader with over two decades of experience in teaching and administration. She began her career teaching middle and high school science in her home state of Connecticut before moving to Tennessee, where she continued teaching and later transitioned into school leadership. Since joining Farragut Middle School, Dr. Ginel has served in a variety of roles, including biology teacher, instructional coach, and assistant administrator. She currently serves as Curriculum Principal, bringing a continued focus on high-quality instruction and educator development.
Throughout her career, Dr. Ginel has been actively involved in educational leadership across Tennessee. She has served as a member of former Governor Haslam’s Teacher Cabinet, a Tennessee SCORE Educator Fellow, and a contributor to multiple committees for the Tennessee Department of Education. Her work reflects a deep commitment to student success, strong teaching, and thriving school communities.

Dr. Ginel holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Virginia, an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Administration from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Science Education, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biology from Boston University.
